ACTIVITIES FOR UNI STUDENTS & YOUNG PROFESSIONALS
We have a range of activities aimed at uni students & young professionals. Please contact us for more specific information regarding these activities.
THURSDAY NIGHTS
Every Thursday night from 7 - 9pm, Aldridge hosts a dinner followed by either a meditation (fortnightly) and get-together, or prayer in the chapel followed by a guest speaker (monthly) or philosophy evening (monthly).
MONTHLY RECOLLECTIONS
The monthly recollections, with the purpose of helping us better live our faith in the midst of our work and family responsibilities, are led by Fr Max and are held at Holy Spirit Parish, Auchenflower on the first Wednesday of every month.
The recollection commences at 6.00pm and runs through to around 7.45pm concluding with Holy Mass.
EMMANUEL CITY MISSION
We volunteer to help out at
least once a month at
Emmanuel City Mission in
South Brisbane, to serve
those in Brisbane doing it
tough with food, drink, clothes
and companionship.
UNIV CONFERENCE
UNIV is an annual congress for university students held in Rome during Holy Week which draws participants from all over the world.
UNIV was started under the inspiration of St. Josemaria Escriva who saw it as a great opportunity to draw university students closer to the Holy Father.
SERVICE PROJECTS
Service projects offer uni students and young professionals the opportunity to live solidarity by serving the poor and less fortunate. Through a project that is both demanding and rewarding, volunteers will discover the great joy of sacrificing themselves for others. They also benefit from the unique opportunity to interact with the local people, learning about their culture and way of life. Participants also have the opportunity to take advantage of spiritual activities such as confession, daily Mass, and regular times for prayer.
The service projects are organised and run in conjunction with other projects of EDA (Education Development Association), together with Reledev Australia Limited – a not-for-profit NGA, accredited with AusAID.
