In the upcoming Easter school holiday we’ve organised an overnight camping trip to the Gold Coast hinterland and beaches.
The basic plan is as follows:
Monday 3 April
We’ll drive to Springbrook National Park where we’ll do the Warrie circuit, a beautiful walk through the valley which passes and goes through lots of waterfalls and rainforest. We are camping the night at Marian Valley, so after the walk we’ll head back to setup the tents and cook dinner. Later in the evening we’ll pray the Rosary before heading out on an expedition to Natural Bridge to check out the glow-worms.
Tuesday 4 April
After Mass and breakfast we’ll trek east to the Gold Coast War Museum. From there we’ll spend a few hours at Tallebudgera Creek before having lunch and if we have time we might play some barefoot bowls before heading back to Brisbane.
Departure & Return
We leave on Monday 3 April. Please meet us at Aldridge Study Centre (101 Eagle Terrace, Auchenflower) at 9:30am. We’ll aim to head off by 10am.
We’ll travel around in an 8-seater minivan plus a car if needed.
We aim to return back by 5:00pm on Tuesday 4 April.
Who is the camp for?
The camp is aimed at boys in Years 7-9 but boys in Year 10 are also welcome to come and help out. Dad’s are welcome to come along too!
Cost and what to bring?
The cost of the camp is $50.
- A tent (if you have one).
- Sleeping bag. Sleeping matt.
- Food (breakfast x 1, lunch x 1, dinner x 1)
- Water bottle. Sun screen.
- Hat. Swimmers. Towel.
- Good clothes for Mass.
- Some jokes for the car trip.
Please confirm attendance by sending an email to Tim (firstname.lastname@example.org). It would be helpful to know sooner rather than later so we can plan the transport arrangements.
